We offer a playful and relaxed experience that lets your little one explore, create, and enjoy their cake while we capture the magic of their excitement. Every moment is tailored to reflect their personality and joy.
First Birthday Session Process
Booking & Planning
1st Birthday essions are typically scheduled within 2-3 weeks of your little one's big day to ensure we capture the full birthday joy!
The Session
From sweet smiles to the first taste of cake, I’ll capture the joy and excitement of your baby's first birthday. The session will be relaxed and fun, with plenty of opportunities for both candid moments and classic portraits.
Image Selection
Within 5-10 days after your session, you’ll receive an online gallery to view your proofing images. This is your opportunity to select your favorite portraits and relive the beautiful moments we captured. During this time, you’ll also have the option to order additional digital files and printed products. Once you've submitted your image selections, I will begin the process of hand-editing each chosen image to perfection, ensuring they are polished and timeless.
Final Delivery
Your fully edited images will be ready in about 5-10 days and uploaded to your online gallery for instant download. Prints and heirloom albums are then sent to the lab for printing.

Your session is more than just a photo shoot—it's an experience designed to capture your most meaningful moments. From the initial consultation to the final product, I’ll guide you every step of the way.
The session fee includes my time, expertise, and access to a curated selection of props and styling options. Sessions may take place in our lovely studio located in Boise, Outdoors, or in your own home. Each session includes 15 of your favorite images.
After your session, you’ll receive a private online proofing gallery, where you can select your 15 favorite images. These will be professionally hand-edited and retouched for you to download.
For those looking to preserve their memories even further, Custom Prints, Albums, and Digital Image upgrades are available.

First Birthday Session FAQ
We recommend booking your first birthday session at least 4-6 weeks in advance to ensure availability around your little one’s big day.
For the cake smash, you'll need to bring the cake, but I’ll provide all the classic props, including the cake stand, simple backdrop, and other accessories. Feel free to bring any additional props you’d like, such as a special blanket or keepsakes.
For the cake smash portion, a simple and comfortable outfit is ideal. We recommend a cute onesie, diaper cover, overalls, tutu, or soft romper that your baby can move easily in. We will also get a few portraits before the cake smash so feel free to bring a nice outfit for your little one—think soft colors, simple designs, and light textures. We also have the client closet of items your little one is welcome to borrow from.
Sessions take place in our lovely studio located in Boise, Idaho.
First birthday sessions typically last 30 minutes to an hour, depending on your baby’s mood and how much they enjoy the cake smash. We’ll go at your baby’s pace to capture the best moments.
I provide simple and timeless props and backdrops for the session but feel free to bring any special items that are meaningful to you and your baby.
Yes! Family members are welcome to join in for portraits. There is an additional fee for including family, which grants us more session time and access to family wardrobe options from our client closet.
Make sure your baby is well-rested and fed before the session to ensure they’re in a good mood. A clean face and hands are always a good idea for photos. If you're doing a cake smash, be prepared for a little mess—it’s part of the fun!
Yes, 15 Digital Images, chosen by you, are included in all Milestone Sessions! Additional digital images and printed items can be purchased after viewing your proofing gallery if desired. Digital Images are delivered via the online gallery and instant download.
Absolutely! You’ll have the option to order professional-quality prints, albums, and other keepsakes directly from your online gallery, ensuring your memories are beautifully preserved.
