At Francelles Photography, we offer a peaceful and relaxed newborn photography experience, capturing your baby’s first days with tenderness and care. Each session is designed to highlight the delicate features of your newborn in a calm setting, ensuring timeless portraits that will be cherished forever.
The Newborn Session Process
Booking & Planning
It’s best to book your session during your second trimester to secure availability. Once your baby arrives, we’ll set the official session date for within the first 5-14 days. You’ll receive a session guide with tips on how to prepare, and I’ll help with wardrobe styling.
The Session
Held in a warm and calming environment, the session is baby-led with plenty of time for feeding, cuddling, and soothing. My studio is stocked with a variety of wraps, blankets, and props to create timeless and heartfelt images, so you don’t have to worry about bringing anything but your baby. I’ll gently pose your baby while also capturing natural, heartfelt moments with family.
Image Selection
Within 5-10 days after your session, you’ll receive an online gallery to view your proofing images. This is your opportunity to select your favorite portraits and relive the beautiful moments we captured. During this time, you’ll also have the option to order additional digital files and printed products. Once you've submitted your image selections, I will begin the process of hand-editing each chosen image to perfection, ensuring they are polished and timeless.
Final Delivery
Your fully edited images will be ready in about 5-10 days and uploaded to your online gallery for instant download. Prints and heirloom albums are then sent to the lab for printing.

Your session is more than just a photo shoot—it's an experience designed to capture your most meaningful moments. From the initial consultation to the final product, I’ll guide you every step of the way.
The session fee includes my time, expertise, and access to a curated selection of props and styling options. Each session includes 15 of your favorite images as digital files.
After your session, you’ll receive a private online proofing gallery, where you can select your 15 favorite images. These will be professionally hand-edited and retouched for you to download.
For those looking to preserve their memories even further, Custom Prints, Albums, and Digital Image upgrades are available.

The ideal time for a newborn session is between 5-14 days old, when babies are sleepiest and curl up naturally. However, I can still create beautiful images for older newborns as well.
Sessions can take place in our lovely studio located in Boise, Idaho, or in your home. Outdoor sessions are available in the summer.
Newborn sessions are unrushed and typically last between 2-3 hours, allowing time for feeding, soothing, and cuddles.
Yes! I have a curated collection of soft, timeless outfits, wraps, and accessories to style your baby beautifully. You’re also welcome to bring anything special.

I’ll send a prep guide before your session, but keeping baby warm, well-fed, and sleepy before arriving helps create a smooth session.
I recommend soft, neutral tones and simple, classic clothing to keep the focus on connection. I also offer a client wardrobe with dresses for moms and young siblings.
Yes, 15 Digital Images, chosen by you, are included in all Newborn Sessions! Additional digital images and printed items can be purchased after viewing your proofing gallery if desired. Digital Images are delivered via the online gallery and instant download.
